– fjord, mountain and city life!

We have collected useful information for tourists, maps, and advertisements for businesses in Strand in a new and practical tourist guide. You can find this free guide “anywhere” in Strand – in shops, hotels, ferries etc., or you can use one of the links on the right.

Ryfylke has an abundance of marked mountain foot trails to suit all levels of difficulty, from easy to challenging. Two popular natural attractions are located on either side of the Lysefjord.

On the south side, you can hike across the mountain plateaux to Kjerag, which lies at 1,084 m above sea level. We can guarantee that standing on top of the Kjeragbolten (a boulder wedged in a mountain crevice), will provide you with a memory for life!

On the other side of the fjord stands Preikestolen (the Pulpit Rock), Rogaland County’s most popular tourist attraction. After hiking for two hours, gazing over the edge of the plateau 604 m over the Lysefjord is a sight that will be sure to take your breath away!

Lilland Hotell at Tau is the hotel that's located closest to the Pulpit Rock - and that's why they call it "The Pulpit Rock Base Camp". During the summer season a bus route operates between the hotel and the starting point for this trip. When you return to the hotel after this fantastic experience you'll receive a nice, little "Pulpit Rock Certificate".

Lilland Hotel is situated only a short ferry crossing (approx. 30 mins) from Stavanger city centre. From there you can join sightseeing tours or visit some of the many museums and other attractions that Stavanger has to offer. During the summer season Stavanger is quite a festival city – for music, food and humour! Come and enjoy our city life! Lilland Hotel looks forward to welcoming you as our guest!
